Once You Have A Kid, Talking About Poo Is An Everyday Occurrence

Weak stomach? Read no further. This is Miles just before the biggest poop of his entire life. Shortly after this oh so cute photo, we put Miles in his bouncer. It was about 6pm (he usually bounces around this time for an hour). Dave was cooking dinner, and I was on the computer (it's right beside the bouncer). I got up to get things ready for Miles' bath, and Dave was going to bring Miles downstairs when I was ready. Soon after, Dave picks up this cute little devil, and notices a red face and a big smile (so Dave tells me after). Dave, of course, says nothing to me, hands over Miles, and tries to make a run for it. I begin to take off Miles' clothes...............
***In our prenatal class they warned us that this would happen when babies were young, it never did. The Midwives told us this day would come. It hadn't, until today.***
First came the smell, then the shocking reality that this day, this day I feared so much, had come...and in full force. I screamed for Dave. Oh the horror. Panic. Panic. What do I do? Without getting too detailed, I can tell you it was everywhere. I say that in all honesty. Miles on the other hand was smiling and laughing away. He was a pig in shit...Literally. I mean it had to feel good to get that all out. Dave and I had a good sense of humour about the whole thing, though it's hard to clean a mess like that when you are both laughing and horrified at the same time. Thank god the wash machine is beside the bathroom. I can't look at that outfit the same. It was my favorite top on him. Not any more.
We headed for the bath. I washed Miles like I never had before. He was gleaming when he came out of the tub.
When I look back on the situation, pooping and bouncing definitely don't mix. Since babies can't tell you when they need to go, it may happen again......fingers crossed that it doesn't.

Ha ha... he looks so innocent and cute in the moments-before picture with Dave! Maybe Dave and I should have brought him a t-shirt that says "poopy monkey" instead. Hope he holds it all in while he's out here in Victoria in a few weeks! Can't wait to see you guys...
