thanks so much for your comments. Isn't it amazing how mean some people can be? I find it kind of funmy...definitely a glimpse into human nature, huh?

one more thing re your perfectly reasonable assumption that i sent an e-mail to say I was leaving to this one editor who I worked with for years and that's why they were maybe upset.
I don't know if this is an excuse, but I have only met the person, twice in person, in 7 years. We've only really ever had an e-mail relationship because I never worked in the office.
Also, I spend most of my time in Calgary now, so getting to see this person in Toronto, just couldn't happen.
but I see your point. I might have to send this person and e-mail asking why they never responded and asked if they were pissed. Who knows. I will do it though...and let you know what happens.
You may very well have a good point.
